Child
Support

Child support is based upon calculations pursuant to the Florida Child Support Guidelines. The Child Support Guidelines will consider the income of each parent, the child care costs, and healthcare-related costs, in addition to the time that each parent spends overnight with the child.

In a case where a parent has been court ordered to pay child support and fails to comply with their child support obligation, legal action can be initiated to compel the parent to pay, which can include sanctions.

Should there be a change in either parent’s financial situation, a modification of the current child support obligation can be sought to accurately reflect the appropriate child support amount.
